Electronic Assembler
Contract to hire role.
Works 6 months- 1 year on our company payroll and moves to the company then after
Shift: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Location: Etobicoke1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in wire & cable industryExperience in shouldering in crimpingUnderstanding the drawingDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assembly of products according to the applicable MCR’s/MI’s/drawings
The following tasks would be performed (as required):
Review drawings, work orders, specifications, instructions, and wire lists
Gather needed tools and materials.
Cut cable/occasional lifting of reels (50-70 lbs.)
Strip wires
Attach connectors to cable.
Potting.
Verify continuity by ring out of cable.
Tasks required to fabricate the product.
Prepare finished product for shipment by packing securely.
Document product shipment by recording units shipped on customer purchase orders.
Ensure safe operation of equipment by following manufacturer’s instructions and completing preventive maintenance requirements.
Actively support and develop efficiency improvements.
Ensure that no product leaves the premises that does not function properly.
Minimal waste and scrap parts.
Package products well to ensure safe arrival.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Maintain product and company reputation.
Maintain accurate, reliable, and accessible records.
Adhere to operational practices, procedures, and standards.
Maintain/obtain technical/ computer knowledge by reviewing technical publications and taking courses as needed/wanted.
Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing the related results as needed.
Bring problems to the attention of your supervisor as soon as they arise.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Secondary School graduate
1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferrable in wire & cable industry
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written (fluency in English a must).
Basic knowledge of electricity and electronics
Ability to use a variety of hand tools.
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
Ability to meet deadlines or ahead of schedule with high-quality work standard.
Ability to interpret drawing and schematics.
Familiarity with following considered an asset: IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC 610, IPC J-Standard
