EHS Manager
LOCATION: Rochester, NY
SUMMARY: This role support APC’s Environmental, Health & Safety programs and strategic initiatives. It is the responsibility of the EHS Manager to ensure that all work performed is done in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Implement Corporate EHS programs, policies, and training with respect to environmental protection, worker safety, industrial hygiene, and other related areas for the site. Exempt level position.

education and/or experience
Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Occupational Health, EHS Management) from four-year college or university, five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience implementing EHS programs in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations is required. Must have experience interpreting regulatory requirements and implementing and coordinating OSHA compliance programs.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Minimal travel by air and/or auto requiring overnight stays. (2/3x per year).
