McMurray location. This position will work with our Underground Utilities division to safety identify hazards and prepare for underground service work.Key Responsibilities– Work with Swamper to uncover underground utilities, clear spills on job sites and safely dispose of hazardous materials.
– Navigate active job sites with workers and equipment/vehicles moving in confined spaces.
– Communicate with Foremen to establish timeline and requirements for each job.
– Drive to and from multiple locations throughout the workday to provide services as needed.
– Train and mentor Swamper on safe operation of Hydrovac equipment.
– Operate within requirements of Ground Disturbance procedures.
– Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
– Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
– Other labour and operation related duties as required.Qualifications | Requirements– High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
– Class 5 driver’s license
– Minimum 2 years experience within the construction industry
– Minimum 3-5 years Hydrovac experience
– Solid understanding of utility excavation
– Knowledge of ground disturbance hazardsWorking Conditions– Weather dependent schedule of Monday to Saturday, consisting of up to 12 hours. Overtime is paid in accordance with local employment standards legislation.
– Out of town travel may be required, accommodations and Live Out Allowance may be applicable.
– Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
– Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
– Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
– Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
