It has grown from 1 campus into a regional educational and economic force. TCC is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in Hampton Roads, enrolling nearly 28,000 students in 2019-20. Founded in 1968 as a part of the Virginia Community College System, Tidewater Community College (TCC) services South Hampton Roads with 4 campuses in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach, 7 regional centers and 2 important cultural institutions. The college had 3,203 graduates in 2019-2020, 40 percent of whom pursued degrees that would let them transfer to 4-year institutions. Of South Hampton Roads residents enrolled in higher education 36% enrolled at TCC. TCC’s institutional accreditation is affirmed through 2027 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.The Domicile Manager oversees the accurate classification of student residency, which directly affects tuition rates and eligibility for specific programs. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with Virginia state regulations and TCC’s institutional residency policies. By managing residency determinations efficiently and accurately, the Domicile Manager contributes to the institution’s financial and administrative stability while supporting its overall mission.Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to provide leadership and supervision to other Office of the College Registrar staff
- Proficiency in interpreting college policies and procedures, with the ability to resolve issues while fostering mutual respect and tolerance from a diverse perspective
- Knowledge of national, State and VCCS policies and standards as they relate to higher education admissions, records and registration
- Ability to hire, train, and supervise part-time staff and student workers in carrying out the functions of the Domicile office which includes accurate completion of Domicile documents
- Ability to collaborate with campus faculty, staff, and college-wide offices to plan and implement Domicile functions
- Proficiency in knowledge of student information databases
- Ability to use data in decision making as it relates to Domicile functions
- Collaboration and teamwork skills required in order to perform duties required of this position
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer competency and a working familiarity with Microsoft Office, presentation, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and use of the Internet
- Demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive mission of the community college
- Ability to make oral and written presentations, to organize and analyze, to negotiate and communicate effectively while establishing cooperative working relationships with a diverse array of individuals in the course of performing assigned duties
- Ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively as a member of a goal-oriented team
- Ability to deliver high-level customer service and maintain a positive attitude in a high-volume service environment
- Experience working in Admissions and Enrollment office
