Alberta, CanadaJob Family Group: Production and Manufacturing DownstreamWorker Type: RegularPosting Start Date: June 25, 2025Business unit: Downstream and RenewablesExperience Level: Early CareersJob Description:What’s the role?The Distribution Team Member oversees all functions relating to the safe, environmentally sound loading, unloading, and shipping of rail cars / trucks which meets or exceeds Shell, industry and government standards. The Distribution Team Member is the field execution lead for all rail and loading activities on shift.This role is responsible for:Monitor shift loading progress and performance, and identify constraints to meeting the planSupport Rail Contractor in loading/off-loading of rail cars (Sulphur, HAO, HOS), Sulphur Truck loading, and rail yard car movements in a safe and environmentally responsible mannerSupport Rail & Loading contractor by ensuring availability of Distribution consumables (placards, car seals)Conduct assurance walks and observations of loading and switching in Distribution areasAssess Contractor Front Line Barrier Management on shiftReview executed procedures for units and provide procedure updates as neededTroubleshoot loading system issues and escalate to Distribution Production Specialist when requiredAdhere to compliance with license to Operate an Industrial RailwayAdhere to TDG compliance in the Distribution areaEnsure shift logs for the Distribution Area are up to date and enter threats into the Shift PlanEnter notifications for Distribution areaCreate Isolation packages to support Maintenance Planning, Scheduling, and Execution of workPrepare and isolate equipment as required for repair or maintenance activities following Safe Work PracticesPermit maintenance work in Distribution following the Permit to Work Safe Work PracticeReview and execute Daily Order InstructionsEscalate Environmental Compliance concerns to Chemicals & Distribution Production Team LeaderConduct winterization walkdowns and enter data into the Extreme Weather Bad Actor RegistryMay be required to fill a reserve worker roleWhat you bringMust have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employerMinimum 3 years related experience preferred in ManufacturingWillingness in obtaining 4th class Power Engineering certificateExperience with rail car and truck loading/offloading is an assetKnowledge of Emergency Response protocols would be advantageousAbility to manage equipment isolation activitiesPossess basic computer skills, i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.Class 5 Driver’s License is requiredIf you don’t see yourself fully reflected in every job requirement listed in the posting above, we still encourage you to reach out and apply.
