If you share a passion for performance, value a collegial and collaborative culture, and approach everything with the highest integrity, here’s an opportunity for you to invest your career at CPP Investments.Job DescriptionThe Director, Enterprise Systems will lead a team of engineers, analysts and quality engineers providing software development leadership with a specific focus on advancing and supporting the products for the Enterprise Systems HR and Public Affairs and Communications departments.Reporting to the Managing Director, Enterprise Systems, you will have end to end accountability for all aspects of technology solution implementation working in partnership with the Product Owner.Major Accountabilities:Execution Leadership
- Build a high performing team with appropriate competencies (technical and business domain) to deliver services that meet and strive to exceed business expectations.
- Lead agile software delivery and provide technical oversight and guidance.
- Drive and empower your team to design, build and support technology solutions according to product roadmaps.
- Ensure DevOps/Quality Engineering for supported products.
- Ensure architecture/delivery is aligned to industry and T&D best practices and standards.
- Build a culture of continuous learning and improvement within your team and across the organization.
- Proactively identify and highlight risks/issues and own accountability to resolve.
- Demonstrate thoroughness in recommendations and drive well thought-out solutions.
People Leadership
- Coach and provide regular feedback to people within your team and across T&D.
- Focus on career development for your team.
- Foster a culture of transparency and model the behaviour of building bridges and trust within the team and organization.
- Instill a focus of responsiveness/sense of urgency and ensure all actions are outcome driven.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Effectively communicate to and influence peers and senior stakeholders, ensuring messages/materials can be comprehended by audiences of varying technical acumen.
- Build network/relationships with business partners to understand business domain and needs to be valued as a trusted partner.
- In partnership with the Product Owner, build and align on strategic roadmaps, priorities and corresponding quarterly OKRs.
- Build network/relationships across T&D to connect the dots to broader strategy, avoid silo’d thinking and drive synergies.
- Effectively manage multiple stakeholder groups simultaneously.
- Manage vendor relationships, optimizing efficiency and meeting budgetary needs to maximize business value.
Metrics, Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Develop relevant metrics/scorecards to monitor KPIs.
- Leverage a data-driven approach to drive continuous improvement and improve behaviours and performance across products, teams, and processes.
Financial Management
- Manage team financials to budget (forecasts, invoices for vendor software/contractors)
QualificationsIf you possess the following, we’d like to hear from you:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or any other quantitative field
- 8+ years’ experience in technology with experience in software development
- People leadership experience and strong knowledge of software development best practices
- Knowledge and working experience of HR, Public Affairs and Communications business and systems would be considered an asset
- Ability to quickly understand the technology needs of various investment strategies and quickly translating complex business needs to technology solutions
- Ability to build strong relationships, influence and communicate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders, including business leaders, operational staff and technical engineers
- Ability to handle changing problems and solve for ‘how’ to support of the Enterprise Systems business needs.
- Adaptable to new technologies and challenges not previously encountered
- Proven project management experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and business users
- Self-motivated with acute attention to detail
- Innovative and proactive
