We are situated within the Office of the CEO and have a unique vantage point within CPP Investments, supporting and advising the CEO and senior management team on many of their most challenging strategic questions. The team engages on a wide variety of important topics including strategy development and emergent external issues to broadly ensure that there is ‘great strategy everywhere’ in the organization. This role will have a significant impact on CPP Investments and how various parts of the organization work together for the benefit of millions of Canadian contributors and beneficiaries.Our team may be a good fit for you if you:

Role-Specific AccountabilitiesAs a Director, One Fund Strategy, you will lead the planning and execution of enterprise strategy work, setting priorities to drive operational excellence and organizational growth. You will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategies, ensuring alignment across the organization. You will also foster cross-functional partnerships to enhance efficiency and achieve long-term business goals.Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies and plans in alignment with corporate objectives, driving organizational growth and operational excellence.
- Foster strong partnerships with various departments and senior leadership, promoting effective communication and collaboration to achieve business goals.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor business performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Lead specific strategy assignments, working closely with designated teams to develop scope documents, work plan, external research, etc.
- Prepare and deliver detailed reports, presentations, and updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders, effectively communicating strategic plans, business performance, insights, and strategic recommendations.
- Own your team’s role in aligning objectives across the enterprise by collaborating within and outside the department
- Contribute to the annual business planning and quarterly reporting processes
- Maintain knowledge of best practices in Strategy development and execution
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Exemplify CPP Investments’ Guiding Principles of integrity, partnership and high performance
- Experience developing strategy and designing related development and review processes within a corporate environment, ideally at a financial institution
- University degree in relevant field with 8+ years of relevant experience
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships effectively with people at all levels.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to think through complex and ambiguous problems and recommend solutions
- In-depth experience managing timelines on multiple concurrent initiatives, keeping managers and colleagues apprised of progress and seeking assistance as required
- In-depth experience working with various data sets, conducting sophisticated data analytics, and synthesizing data and information across a diverse range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to inclusively lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team of professionals
