BASIC FUNCTION:

The Association’sInternal Controls Policyestablishes the goal of supporting an enterprise-wide Regulatory Compliance Program (Program). The Director of Regulatory Management assists in directing the enterprise’s response to evolving regulatory requirements, managing remediation initiatives, and coordinating regulatory examinations. This role ensures that the organization remains compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and supervisory guidance by proactively monitoring regulatory changes, communicating their impacts, and leading responses to regulatory inquiries and findings. The Director of Regulatory Management also collaborates in the coordination of regulatory interactions, ensuring effective communication and the timely resolution of supervisory concerns.

Positioned within the Second Line of Responsibility Compliance Department, the Director of Regulatory Management collaborates with senior leadership, First-Line of Responsibility Compliance Managers, and cross-functional teams to proactively identify and address compliance risks, drive continuous improvement, and safeguard organizational integrity. Pillars of responsibility within the Second Line of Responsibility Compliance & Ethics Program include Compliance, Standards of Conduct, Whistleblower, and Regulatory Management Programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Under the oversight and direction of the Executive Head of Compliance, Ethics & Regulatory Management, this position is responsible for the following:

Regulatory Change Management:

  • Monitor emerging regulatory developments and topics to inform business units and functional teams, leveraging compliance frameworks and processes.

  • Implement and maintain processes for documenting, tracking, and updating emerging regulatory issues and rulemaking activities.

  • Design and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to assess the impact of regulatory changes on the organization.

  • Assess implications of new laws, regulations, and supervisory guidance; communicate changes and recommend responses to relevant stakeholders.

Regulatory Remediation Management:

  • Manage centralized remediation management processes to ensure timely and effective response to supervisory priorities.

  • Monitor progress of remediation efforts against key regulatory and supervisory priorities.

  • Aggregate remediation information for Compliance Management to use in reporting progress to the board of directors and senior management.

  • Collaborate on the prioritization and address supervisory concerns that may present risks to the enterprise.

  • Ensure timely remediation, completion, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Escalate and report key themes and findings from regulatory matters, examination results, and remediation efforts across the organization.

Regulatory Examination Management:

  • Assist in the coordination of regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries.

  • Maintain a central repository of regulatory contacts and documentation of all regulatory interactions.

  • Assist in managing strategic communications with regulators, ensuring all interactions are documented and aligned with organizational guidelines.

  • Proactively monitor and escalate significant issues with cross-functional impact, ensuring organization-wide awareness and response.

  • Assist in the coordination of open dialogue with regulators, share leading practices, and define standards for responding to examination results and findings.

Additional:

  • Attend the Association’s Geopolitical Risk Committee, a Governance and Risk Committee subcommittee, and develop appropriate agendas, reports, and information as directed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Head of Compliance, Ethics & Regulatory Management.

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED

Reports to the Executive Head of Compliance, Ethics & Regulatory Management. Provides guidance to business units, cross-functional teams, and external consultants as needed. Directs project teams and Compliance Quality Assurance Analysts assigned to specific compliance initiatives.

TYPICAL KNOWLEDGE AND experience:

  • 7+ years of directly related experience in the diversified financial services industry (preferred), including regulatory, legal, audit, lending, and operations experience, with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience.

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent. Formal certification is desired to include Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and/or certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).Maintains required continuing professional education and development requirements.

  • Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines in a collaborative setting and independently.

  • Experience embedding a compliance risk-aware culture in a rapidly changing and dynamic business environment.

  • Ability to think strategically and possess the skills to influence and monitor the performance of Compliance Quality Assurance Analysts and Compliance Managers.

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management frameworks, risk management processes, risk appetite statements, key risk measures/indicators (leading vs. lagging), risk assessment, and review.

  • Thorough knowledge of the correct use of the English language, excellent proofreading, editing, formatting, and spelling skills.

  • Proficient in using software and information technology to collect, organize, maintain, and disseminate information.Ability to utilize and leverage technology in new or complex situations.

  • Strong written and oral communication and facilitation skills with experience reporting to all levels of the organization, including the Board of Directors and the Executive Team, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder interaction skills.

  • Ability to problem solve and execute work quickly, accurately, and thoughtfully.

  • Professional presence, positive demeanor, and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, management, external auditors, and regulatory agencies.

  • Possess a forward-thinking, enterprise mindset to stay ahead of potential, emerging risks.

  • High integrity and discretion, sound judgment, and strong work ethic.

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 20% annually.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit, and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required. Work during established business hours and weekend and/or evening work. Some travel required.

FULL-TIME REMOTE: These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $128,481.07 – Max $244,114.05 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

  • Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.

  • Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
