Provide expertise in the development and implementation of changes and customer service enhancements.Job DescriptionWhat NAV CANADA offers you:Challenging, team-oriented work environmentCompetitive compensation and benefitsDefined benefit pension planOpportunities for growth and developmentFlexible work arrangementsDiverse and inclusive workforceKey Accountabilities:Leads in the design and development of solutions appropriate to business and systems requirements within the target platform.Participates in peer reviews of technical specifications of client requirements and schedules.Develop, write, and test applications, hardware interface, systems interconnection software, identify, define, and correct maintenance problems.Identifies opportunities and assists in the research and recommendation of forward-thinking initiatives to advance functionality / performance and reduce costs.Provides accurate and timely Level of Effort (LOE) analysis estimates for requested solutions of varying sizes.Participates in code-walkthroughs and provides feedback to other team members.Creates clear, concise, and standard technical documentation and specifications for solutions and provides input into relevant documentation prepared by other groups.Assists in troubleshooting and problem solving for new applications/system modification within the team and provides solutions which promote best practices and standard procedures.Job RequirementsEducation:Graduated from a recognized university/college with a degree/certification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Systems, Math, Engineering or an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training.Experience:A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Developer.Experience in debugging and code optimization.Experience analyzing, recommending, designing, and implementing solutions appropriate to the core technologies used, including an understanding of the Core Functionality, Reporting, Interfaces, Customizations and Extensions and how each will fit into the existing environment.Experience working with ServiceNow.Knowledge:Knowledge of software development and testing process from preliminary design to formal testing and acceptance.

Knowledge of computer systems, hardware, software languages, test, debug, software development, software generation and configuration management tools.Knowledge of maintenance processes, procedures, business functions in context of the air navigation business.Current knowledge of industry trends and developments with respect to existing and evolving computer languages and technologies, productivity tools, user problems, communications equipment, and systems suppliers, etc.Knowledge of ServiceNow modules and their capabilities.Abilities:Ability to provide expert advice, guidance, and opinions in area of specialization.Ability to lead moderately complex to complex projects.Skilled in analyzing and solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing, and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.Ability to analyze business processes and requirements and adapt them into technical designs.Personal Suitability:Verbal and written communication skills.Performance and results driven.Shows initiative, responsibility, integrity, reliability, good judgement, positive attitude.Maturity and timeliness in delivering lifecycle and project outcomes.Working conditions:This position is based at the Ottawa Head Office but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.NAV CANADA is committed to building a skilled, diverse workforce reflective of Canadian society.
