Depot Design PlannerWe are looking for a new Depot Design Planner to join their busy Property team.Working in the field you will take responsibility for producing and upholding high quality Interior/ space planning, design and construction co-ordination activities for up to 85 reformats and 30 new build depots each year across the UK and Ireland.This is a full-time permanent position focussing on the Midlands and South of the UK. You will be based from one of our local sites with regular travel expected.What will I be doing as a Depot Design Planner?

  • Producing high quality Interior/ space planning, 2D design and construction coordination for new & current sites
  • Create high quality and accurate technical 2D drawings supporting the rollout of a minimum of 30 depots a year, 80-90 reformats and annually scheduled refurb programmes
  • Engage Depot, Area Managers and regional directors through their depot fitout from concept to completion, leading on scoping meetings and design development
  • Accountable for designing with Building control standards in mind and liaison with Local authorities
  • Brief and manage any external design resources to design technical drawings accurately and within the tight timescales you dictate,
  • Review designs submitted by external resource/ contractors with financial and commercial implications in mind.
  • Work closely with Construction Project Managers and Property Acquisitions teams to honour timescales and budget expectations

What do I need to qualify for this role?

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a fast-paced retail business environment.
  • Experienced on CAD/CAM software (AUTOCAD/SKETCHUP)
  • Experience in creating high quality AutoCAD drawings
  • Excellent spatial awareness, both in 2D layout and within the 3D environment
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong and confident communicator
  • Sound knowledge of regulations affecting: Health and Safety, DDA, CDM and Fire Regulations
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Pro and Photoshop
  • Demonstrated experience of taking design projects from concept to completion
  • UK driving licence required for nationwide travel

Desirable:

  • Applicants educated to degree level in interior Architecture or Architectural Technician is advantageous
