We offer exciting career paths, opportunities for advancement, mentorship, training, and professional development in a safe and healthy work environment.What Will You Do?You will work as part of a team of professionals to help provide services to Nova Scotians. You will explore and learn about the Department you are working in, which could include serving the public, interacting with industry members, research activities, coordination of meetings or events. You may also have the opportunity learn about the other departments in the Civil Service. In keeping with the priority of increasing food security for the ANS community, you will participate in agricultural learning opportunities, visit local farms, and see hands-on food production and processing. • Department of Agriculture – Regional Services: This student will assist Agriculture in the Classroom staff. The tasks will include inventory of materials for various programs, organizing and sorting of materials, packing of classroom kits for multiple programs and preparing boxes for shipping. There will be some heavy lifting required for this position; a valid driver’s licence is required.

• Department of Agriculture – Programs: This student will support the Programs Division in reviewing and processing applications, file management, and program promotion. This work involves reviewing applications and program claims for completeness along with entering application data into the online Grants Management System.

• Department of Agriculture – Policy: You will work in an office environment with a team of professionals that support Policy and Corporate Services within the Department of Agriculture. Your work may include employee engagement activities, records management, and research.

• Office of African Nova Scotian Affairs (ANSA): You will work with the ANSA Regional Program Administration Officer to support the development and implementation of programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening and empowering African Nova Scotian communities in the Northern region.

• Natural Resources & Renewables – Shubenacadie Wildlife Park: You will be working at the wildlife park in one of the following roles: Animal Caretaker; Maintenance; Cashier; or Junior Nature Interpreter.
