Job Title: Delivery EngineerWork type: PermanentHours: 37 hours per weekSalary: Up to £43,000 per annumLocation: Kent- BurhamTravel between sites required, therefore driving licence is essentialWe are currently recruiting for a Delivery Engineer to be based in Kent region to support our Water Resources & Production function that are responsible for a range of assets including Water Supply Works, Water Booster Stations and Water Service Reservoirs produce wholesome water to our customers, by ensuring reactive projects are managed correctly meeting the operational requirements.
Your role will be key in ensuring contractors are safely delivering installation or replacements of required assets on time, to the required standard and within budget, whilst also making sure that the work meets regulatory and statutory requirements, and maximises benefits to Southern Water.
You will be managing day-to-day issues regarding the delivery of operational led schemes or projects within your remit, and be accountable for measuring progress against the reactive work priorities and taking proactive steps to mitigate any delays or deviations from the project plan to ensure that the project is delivered to the design and criteria specified by Asset Management.
The nature of work requires you to manage and agree commissioning, take-over, completion and final certification criteria with contractors and operations. Therefore frequent visit to sites will be required to review site activities and monitor progress to ensure works are progressing in a timely manner, and that the work is of a satisfactory quality .
You will also be responsible for the raising, authorisation and completion of work orders and purchase orders within Southern Waters work management systems, ensuring allocation to the correct budgets. In managing contractors to comply with the agreed requirements, you will raise any issues with contractors and resolve these with them as soon as possible to ensure that risks associated with the project are understood, documented, and managed until completion. You will be collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive down POOA (Plant Out Of Action), and save Southern Water money on Opex and Capex by minimising the plant on hire time and costs.

Reporting to the Regional Maintenance Manager in Water Resources and Production, you will be collaborating with the frontline Operations and Maintenance teams within your geographical area, where no two days are the same, with your passion to drive change and improvements in this highly rewarding role in your next career move within water operations!
To be successful in this role, you will have a ideally have background in Engineering (Mech/Elec/Multi) and/or Project Management with previous experience of working with contractors within water operations. A great opportunity for someone who has strong critical thinking and the ability to provide resolutions with a solutions focussed mindset.
