Joining our QA team offers the chance to work on exciting projects, innovate with advanced technologies, and make a significant impact in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.Who we’re hiringWe seek an experienced Data QA Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and excellence of our products. Collaborating with our engineering and data science teams, you’ll develop, implement, and maintain effective testing strategies, with a primary focus on data integrity and automated testing using Python (frameworks like pytest). This role is key in ensuring that our software meets the highest standards of quality and exceeds our customers’ expectations.The successful candidate will be:

  • Knowledgeable in Software development & test life cycles, and experienced in automated testing using Python.
  • Have a good understanding of statistics & mathematics, essential for designing effective test, interpreting data insights and able to assess our solutions from a market research perspective.
  • Proficiency in data governance frameworks; possess advanced skills in SQL, data querying, and a strong understanding of data structures, relational databases, and modelling concepts.
  • Collaborating with Product Engineering and Research teams to understand product changes and define test strategy.
  • Strategic; you can articulate when to apply software quality best practices and how to balance manual testing & automated.
  • Enthusiastic about developing tooling and tests that proactively address ambiguous data validation problems.
  • Quality focused, contribute to the continuous improvement of our quality initiatives.
  • Confidently identifying quality gaps and risks and work with fellow teammates & business stakeholders to mitigate them.
  • Prepare test strategies from a customer perspective, ensuring that testing aligns with user expectations.
  • Able to work autonomously, taking ownership of tasks and proactively addressing issues encountered.
  • Strong in communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for a shift-left testing approach by integrating testing early and often in the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts for data validation and regression, focusing on data integrity.
  • Identify, log, and track defects throughout the testing process, ensuring that all data quality and functional issues are resolved effectively.
  • Utilize tools like DisplayR/SPSS to validate data, verify transformation rules, and conduct data quality assessments.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers & Research team to identify and resolve issues early in the development cycle.
  • Contribute to improving QA methodologies related to AI/ML testing and validation.
  • Analyse test execution results, discuss quality metrics and trends with your teams to drive improvements.
  • Optimise testing processes to improve efficiency and coverage in all application layers.
  • Provide support and guidance to other QA Engineers in all aspects of quality assurance.
  • Keep up-to-date with new testing tools and strategies, incorporating them into the testing framework as appropriate.

  • First Round Interview with Head of Test Engineering & Group Engineering Manager (Technical Interview) – 60m
  • Second Round Interview with your team Engineering Manager & Research expert (Tech test round) – 60m
  • Final Round Interview with QA team members (Culture Interview) – 60m

  • Salary range £50k-65K per annum depending on experience. Salaries are benchmarked annually
