Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.This role is in our People department, our People Team supports us to recruit, retain, engage and develop our people. Roles can be in talent acquisition, learning, reward, employee relations or people services.There will be an expectation to attend our Head Office in Stevenage a couple of times a month.Want to come and be a part of it?What will you be doing?This role is all about making a meaningful impact on how we protect and manage data across our organisation. As part of the team, you’ll be supporting our data protection practices, keeping an eye out for any risks or incidents. You’ll take the lead in managing Data Subject Access Requests and play an important part in conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments, working closely with both colleagues and our trusted external partners.Maintaining the accuracy of our Record of Processing Activities is key to staying on track, and you’ll help ensure it reflects our commitment to high standards. Your insight will also be invaluable when it comes to reviewing data protection clauses in contracts and data sharing agreements, and you’ll know just when to escalate more complex issues for further support.In the event of a data breach, you’ll help coordinate our response alongside the Chief Privacy Officer-acting promptly and carefully to ensure every step is handled correctly. You’ll also bring privacy to life across the business by leading training sessions, contributing to awareness campaigns, and being the approachable, knowledgeable person people turn to for advice.By tracking our data protection activity, reporting metrics to senior leaders, and helping drive improvement actions, you’ll support our ongoing mission to stay proactive and accountable. Lastly, your guidance and support for your teammates will help us all grow together, making privacy a shared success across the board.What you’ll bring

  • Solid working knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and related guidance
  • Experience supporting organisational compliance within a complex or multi-entity/multiple divisional environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments
  • Experience managing DSARs, DPIAs, and maintaining ROPA
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
