At Arts & Science, we take pride in our legacy of innovation and discovery that has changed the way we think about the world.Your opportunity:Under the Director of Planning, Data & Analysis, the incumbent will be responsible for the advancement and maintenance of the Faculty’s data infrastructure. This will include but not be limited to design, development and optimizing of databases by developing programming communication protocols between systems to automate ETL and data refresh pipelinesand analyzing problems and applying fixes to the non-production and production environments. The incumbent will also be involved in support the Faculty’s machine learning efforts by supporting the creation of training datasets and implementation of models. The incumbent will utilize a variety of coding languages such as python, SQL and java to conduct complex database development, migration and maintenance. The incumbent will utilize software like MS Azure Data Studio, PostgreSQL, MS Azure Data Factory and SPSS to support the Faculty’s data infrastructure. The position will work closely with a number of team members to develop data-driven insights and visualizations in support of Faculty of Arts and Science’s strategic and operational objectives. Key focus areas will include scoping and requirements gathering, data management, data analysis, dashboard development and report generation for a variety of audiences, as well as contributions to the database structure, designs, schemas and documentation.Your responsibilities will include:

USW Pay Band 12 — $79,874. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $102,147. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
