D1 Licence Drivers Needed – Join Driver Hire (Torbay) in Newton Abbot!Driver Hire (Torbay) is currently seeking drivers with D1 licences to work for our client in the Newton Abbot area. This temp-to-perm position offers a fantastic opportunity for drivers looking for a long-term role.

Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: £11.44 per hour
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
• Overtime payable at 1.5 times your standard rate
• Pension scheme with Scottish Widows – 5% employee and 3% employer contributions

• 28 days holiday per year (including bank holidays). After 5 years of service, you earn an additional day per year, up to a maximum of 33 days (including bank holidays)

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting directly to the Minibus Manager.
• Collect and deliver customer vehicles according to schedule; may include occasional overnight stays.
• Complete all required paperwork with customers, ensuring professionalism.
• Safely and efficiently deliver vehicles to customers.
• Confirm all vehicles are delivered in proper working condition.
• Correctly complete paperwork in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure seamless vehicle deliveries.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and suggest improvements when necessary.
• Assist in the daily operations of the delivery team.
• Drive vehicles safely, adhering to traffic and weather conditions; report any faults with vehicles promptly.
• Prepare vehicle condition reports for courtesy and customer vehicles.
• Verify all documentation when transferring vehicles.
• Report any incidents or accidents to your manager immediately.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in a delivery role is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good knowledge of vehicle safety and handling.
