Project and Development Services (PDS) is a global business of over 6,000 professionals supporting occupier and investor clients to deliver projects ranging from a £25,000 sub-division of a retail unit through to delivering new cities.
The UK PDS business comprises approximately 225 people with teams located in all our main regional markets with a budget of over £40m fee revenue and ambitious plans to grow. This team delivers Building Consultancy (BC), Project Management (PM), Cost Management (CM) and Net Zero Design Consultancy (NZC) nationally. The UK Project, Cost and Net Zero Design Consulting business is a successful and well- established component of JLL’s PDS business and has shown considerable growth over the past 2 – 3 years both in headcount, revenue and profitability. With continued ambition and demand for its services, the business is set to continue to scale through to its current business planning cycle in 2025.
The successful candidate will join a busy and successful team and be working alongside other internal departments such as Capital Markets, Planning and Development, Valuations, Agency, Property Asset Management and Lease Advisory, as part of our One JLL approach to provide holistic, commercial advice to our clients.
We deliver consultancy services to a premium client base of both occupiers and investors across the commercial, retail, living, life science, hotel, education, government, and industrial property sectors. At JLL, you’ll have a chance to innovate with the world’s leading businesses, put that expertise into action on landmark projects, and work on game-changing real estate initiatives.Job DescriptionWe are interested in speaking with Cost Managers about a position in our Manchester based Cost Management team.Role PurposeWe have an exciting opportunity to join our growing Cost Management team, a friendly, professional and dynamic group.You will have recently achieved MRICS status or be part way through your journey to chartership.The successful candidate will have experience in performing as part of a consultancy or client-side team delivering projects. This is a fast-paced team with an enviable client-list and with an increasing workload; there is significant opportunity for progression and rapid career development.You will need to demonstrate relevant and recent experience with appropriately sized projects as well as the ability to engage and communicate effectively with clients, consultants and contractors. You will also be encouraged to support colleagues in various technical and knowledge management initiatives.The ideal candidate will have a technical and experience-based background. They will have a solid understanding of the numerous design standards and construction methodologies and be able to communicate advice appropriately and effectively.As expected of a modern team you would be provided with the latest IT equipment, remote working capability, personal and professional development, continued innovation of new products and software to continuously improve and enhance our service.What this job involves

  • Delivery of pre and post contract services
  • Support and contribute to feasibility cost estimates and detailed cost plans
  • Ability to assess and understand design proposals
  • Contribute to the delivery of post contract duties including payment, cost reporting and contract administration
  • Delivery of reinstatement cost assessments
  • Work with clients, design teams and contractors to optimise solutions
  • Understand the differing project procurement routes available
  • Undertake data collection to support benchmarking and knowledge management
  • A track record of delivering appropriately sized projects for occupier and/or investor clients
  • Experience of delivering high quality services from inception to completion
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated
  • Verbal, numerical and report/proposal writing skills
  • Flexible and have the ability to work to deadlines
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Willing to become part of a dynamic, engaged and supportive team
