The Coordinator will support the Signature Events team in achieving revenue and participation goals. Coordinator is to manage and lead logistics, ticket sales, silent auction and other day of revenue generating activations for the cross-country Pump Couture Fashion Show and other events.The Coordinator will be the frontline contact for Diabetes Canada and will be required to:
- Lead six (6) Pump Couture Fashion Shows in cities across Canada
- Support models through the entire event timeline
- Work closely with committee members to secure auction items
- Manage all online auctions, ticket sales portals, procurement of items, fulfillment to winners and stewardship
- Work with vendors, sponsors, volunteers and event participants
- Provides administrative support to the portfolio
- Provides marketing support, working cross functionally with the marketing team
- Working with Coordinators across DC to ensure business practices are followed
- Assist with management and organization of fundraising events
- Manage the Diabetes Canada regional social media platforms.
Location:1300 – 522 University Ave. Toronto, Ontario. A flexible work agreement policy in place allowing employees to work on a hybrid schedule, working remotely, and with the expectation of attending in person events when needed.This role includes, but not limited to:Revenue Generation Support
- Support the team in meeting or exceeding annual fundraising goals by assisting the execution of various fundraising events and programs in alignment with regional and national plans.
- Work with team members to identify and maximize event revenue generation opportunities e.g., ticket sales, silent auctions, raffles, table sales, teams, golf foursomes, etc.
- Work with team members on the solicitation and follow up with sponsors and other event participants.
- Coordinating six (6) Pump Couture Fashion Shows with the commitment to travel to each location across the Country.
- Work on growing the events portfolio by seeking growth and other creative revenue opportunities
Event Support
- Lead the day of event, managing volunteers, vendors and models, ensuring a positive event experience.
- Work with team members to identify, steward, and develop implementation plans to carry out at Signature Events at the local level.
- Support for the marketing strategy and implementation for Special Events and partnerships.
- Responsible for execution of the marketing plan, including, but not limited to, social media, event programs, signage, presentations.
- Identify possible sponsors for Special Events and other potential opportunities.
- Responsible for event administration, database management and financial reconciliation in partnership with other Coordinators across the Fund Development team.
- Complete impact reports and event summaries for all events.
- Management and track inventory of all event supplies at our storage unit.
The ideal candidate possesses:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant program or equivalent experience
- 2 years’ work experience in fundraising, sales, event coordination, marketing and/or not-for-profit
- Demonstrated experience working on special events and working with volunteers
- Experience with email marketing, social media and with tools such as Canva.
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with digital technology
- Achievement-oriented; a goal-setter
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Flexible and responsive
- Collaborative relationship-builder
- Computer proficiency including experience with social media
