We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Designer to join our esteemed team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of custom machine electrical circuits, including power, control, safety, and PLC circuits, in accordance with customer specifications and ESA/CSA standards. This role requires close collaboration with mechanical designers, production support, and the management of multiple projects concurrently.Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze electrical design quotes.
• Design custom machine electrical circuits, encompassing power, control, safety, and PLC, within the allocated budget.
• Develop panel layouts and field wiring schematics.
• Assess products and pricing to generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and facilitate their release for purchasing.
• Design electrical circuits utilizing Solidworks Electrical/AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with ESA/CSA standards.
• Provide necessary support to the production team.
• Specify hardware, develop BOMs, and oversee their release for purchasing.
• Create detailed schematics for panel design and field wiring.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Prepare Excel sheets for lamacoids and labels for machine devices.
• Produce wire labels for panel builders.
• Collaborate effectively with mechanical designers.
• Update drawings based on redline markups.
• Procure quotes for electrical components.
• Release BOMs with quotes to the purchasing department.
• Maintain drawing files on the network in accordance with established procedures.
• Create and maintain Solidworks Electrical blocks.
• Conduct research on new electrical components and methodologies.
• Develop critical spare parts lists for machine manuals.
• Provide troubleshooting support during power-up.

Essential Skills:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical panel and schematic design for industrial automation applications.
• Proven experience in creating BOMs and component selection.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and other departments.
• Strong team player mentality.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical codes such as Industrial Establishments Regulation 851, CSA, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with Solidworks Electrical.
• Experience in programming PLCs or integrating designs into PLCs.
