Responsible for people development, process change, internal and external financial reporting and providing advice, direction, and financial expertise to senior management.Role Responsibilities:
- Manages and monitors our client’s large accounting operations including the review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting.
- Establishes and monitors internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory and internal company policies and procedures.
- Manages customer contracts and rebate programs, including monthly and quarterly reconciliation of rebate calculations and payout distributions to customers.
- Calculates biweekly commissions and handles payroll submissions as required.
- Prepares weekly and monthly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assists with the implementation of new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and other software solutions.
- Works closely with Finance leadership to define financial objectives and strategies for the company and plan, managing and carrying out a course of action necessary to support these initiatives.
- Consistently produces accurate and reliable financial reporting to management and Specialty sites, meeting or beating deadlines.
- Provides leadership, guidance, coaching, and succession planning to team members.
- Analyzes financial information to assist management in increasing profitability; makes recommendations towards sound business decisions and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensures the effectiveness of operations of finance team, continually looking for efficiencies in processes within department and collaborating with other departments.
- Assists Finance leadership with forecasting results.
- Plays an integral role in the annual budget process.
- Contributes to cross-functional projects that enhance shareholder value.
- Works with the corporate internal audit group, external auditors, tax and legal advisors.
- Accountable for the accuracy of timecards, approvals and scheduling of direct reports.
- Develops and support high performing talent through hiring, scheduling, performance coaching, and career management practices.
- Facilitates establishment of clear performance goals; ensures that performance goals adapt to changing business demands; identifies and manages non-performers in a fair and timely way; identifies and reward top performance; links pay and performance through base, incentive, and recognition programs.
- Presents oneself in a manner that demonstrates executive maturity, professionalism, trust, confidence, and integrity.
- Communicates broadly and frequently the company’s vision, direction, goals, performance against plan, changes, and expectations through participation in department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and informal conversations with associates
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Understands both the economic and cultural value that a safe organization with minimal environmental impact brings to an organization.
- Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by providing necessary resources and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience working in a finance/accounting role.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Completion of post-secondary education in accounting; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- CPA designation.
- MBA an asset.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle may be required. Some travel may be required (up to 5%).
