Weâre looking for a pragmatic, collaborative and experienced compliance manager with deep knowledge of FCA rules and associated regulations, who is passionate about Monzoâs mission to make money work for everyone.This role will have day-to-day responsibility for advising on compliance matters associated with Monzoâs Wealth Collective , specifically leading on Insurance products in the UK (e.g Building and Contents insurance, Life insurance, Travel insurance, Phone insurance). This role reports directly to Monzoâs Senior Compliance Advisory Manager responsible for Wealth.At Monzo we do things differently: we truly care about providing a phenomenal experience for our customers. We operate a âthree lines of defenceâ model of risk management at Monzo: youâll be working in 2LoD as part of our Risk and Compliance Collective, in the Compliance Team.This role will partner directly with our Product teams to ensure we fulfil our Consumer Duty requirements, launch products safely and adhere to key regulatory compliance obligations. This will require experience of advising on the requirements of the FCA sourcebooks whilst also having a grounding in the retail banking and payments landscape and requirements more widely.đ Youâll play a key role byâŠ
- Being the first point of contact for compliance advice on Insurance products.
- Providing clear and proactive compliance advice to the Product teams on Insurance.
- Reviewing customer journeys and communications to meet insurance rules and the Consumer Duty, helping the business deliver good customer outcomes and flagging any risks.
- Learning about the wider Wealth products (Savings, Investments, Pensions) with the aim to expand support to more areas in future.
- Advising Marketing and Financial Promotion teams on financial promotion rules and guidance.
- Build strong relationships with the wider Compliance team, including leadership, as well as Risk, Legal, and Audit teams.
- Supporting the Conduct and Compliance Advisory strategy.
- Promoting a culture of compliance to 1LOD colleagues
- Challenging policies and procedures to improve customer outcomes and meet regulations.
- Helping create and update compliance policies.
- Overseeing regulatory breaches and incidents.
- Finding ways to improve and automate compliance processes.
- Contributing to making Compliance a âcentre of excellenceâ.
This role requires strong communication & collaboration skills with a â hands-on â approach, to ensure that regulations are fully understood, our products are âcompliant by designâ and our customersâ needs are being met.đ€© Weâd love to hear from you ifâŠ
- You know the Consumer Duty and insurance regulations inside out
- Youâve got hands-on experience with regulations for insurance products, ideally from working at a bank, insurer, or fintech.
- You like to be where the action is and thrive in fast paced environments.
- You can take initiative and want to help shape new things.
- Youâre a great communicator and problem-solver, good at weighing risks and finding balanced solutions.
- You understand how Risk and Compliance fit into the 3 lines of defence model.
