- Hours: Full-Time Monday to Friday
- Pay rate: £105-£115 per day

Long Term Futures is supporting a an OFSTED Rated OUTSTANDING mainstream primary school in Southwark (SE1) with an integrated SEN provision, in their search for a skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work with pupils with complex needs. This full-time role is available from April 2025 and is ideal for someone experienced in supporting non-verbal children with autism (ASD) and pupils with additional SEMH and communication difficulties.The Role:
- Provide structured and nurturing support to pupils with complex SEND, including non-verbal autism, sensory processing needs, and emotional regulation difficulties
- Work 1:1 and in small groups with children in EYFS and KS1, using visual aids, PECs, Makaton, and other communication tools
- Collaborate with SENCo, class teachers, and external therapists to implement EHCP strategies and behaviour support plans
- Support during unstructured times (transitions, breaktimes) with a consistent and calm presence
Criteria for this role:
- Experience working with primary-aged pupils with ASD, SEMH and complex communication needs
- Understanding of working with non-verbal learners using visual communication systems
- A calm, patient and empathetic approach
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent in SEND/Education
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

- Based in Southwark (SE1), with excellent transport links
- Closest stations: London Bridge, Borough, Southwark and Elephant & Castle
- Multiple bus routes serving the area from across Central and South London
