Compensation Manager, Specialist (Temp to Hire) | Fully remote (Physical offices in Chicago)Our client is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and a subsidiary of a larger financial services group. The firm is dedicated to helping pre-retirees and retirees develop personalized financial strategies through services such as investment management, retirement planning, and income solutions. With a client-focused approach, they aim to simplify complex financial decisions and provide long-term guidance tailored to individual retirement goals.They are currently seeking a Commissions Manager/Specialist to oversee and execute processes related to BLS/BLAS compensation and billing. This role is responsible for managing the full compensation cycle, including data entry, validation, auditing, and reporting. The ideal candidate will work across multiple systems to ensure accurate and timely processing of compensation while maintaining a high level of detail and compliance.Responsibilities:
Oversee and execute the full cycle of BLS/BLAS compensation and billing processes
Process commission payments accurately and on time in accordance with internal schedules and policies
Perform data entry and validation to ensure integrity of compensation-related information
Conduct audits to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with compensation guidelines
Generate and analyze reports to support compensation tracking and reconciliation
Collaborate with internal teams such as Finance, HR, and Sales to resolve commission-related issues
Maintain documentation and records for all compensation transactions and reporting procedures
Support ongoing improvements to systems and workflows that impact commission processing
Ensure timely resolution of inquiries related to commissions, billing, or reporting
Utilize multiple software platforms to manage pay cycle activities and reporting functionsRequirements:
4+ years of professional experience with a Broker-Dealer and/or Registered Investment Advisor (RIA)
Experience with the Xtiva (or Purefacts) compensation system is required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, and Word
Advanced Excel skills, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and data validation
Familiarity with industry platforms like Envestnet and NetX360 (or similar)
Strong independent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail in both data entry and recordkeeping
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as within a teamOn a temporary basis, the hourly rate for this role is approximately $30 per hour. Once converted to a permanent position, the estimated annual salary is expected to be in the mid-$70,000 range, with potential eligibility for a discretionary bonus. Please note that our client is flexible within this range, and final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
