As a progressive and vibrant healthcare organization, we are committed to being an innovative center of excellence in community hospital care.Job DescriptionThis is what you’ll be doing:Reporting to the Manager Compensation, Benefits & HR Support Services, this role supports Halton Healthcare’s compensation programs for more than 5,000 employees.You will administer compensation plans/provisions and associated policies providing counsel to HR Leadership, the broader HR portfolio and other leaders across Halton Healthcare and participating in the annual non-union salary review process. You will participate in salary surveys, conducting analysis on competitive trends / practices within peer hospitals and the larger market place.You will coordinate the day-to-day job evaluation function including recommendation of the appropriate salary grade for non-union, management, and unionized jobs. In this role, you will apply your pay equity knowledge and participate in reviews to ensure that Halton Healthcare maintains its pay equity obligations for all employee groups.Working with our HRIS Specialist, you will participate in system support such as updating salary administration tables, running reports / analyzing data and ensuring data integrity within HR systems.QualificationsHalton Healthcare endeavors to hire individuals who are competent in their chosen profession and who exemplify our mission, vision and values of accountability, respect and compassion which guide our individual behaviours and attitudes.

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ progressive experience in compensation administration.
  • Completed university degree in Business, Human Resources or related. Specialist certification as compensation professional an asset.
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with standards and practices for provincial and federal legislation with respect to compensation (Pay Equity Act, Ontario Employment Standards Act, Broader Public Sector Compensation requirements).
  • Experience in compensation program administration (i.e. variable/incentive pay structures, job evaluation). Experience with Hay System an asset.
  • Solid understanding of unionized environments (preferably healthcare) including administration of multiple Collective Agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to conduct research and condense complex information into succinct reports, including actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced capability in HRIS applications with strong Excel and other analytical tool skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
