We’re excited to announce a new opportunity at Flair for a Commercial Forecast Analyst, based at our offices in Glossop, Derbyshire, just 25 minutes east of Manchester city centre and the gateway to the Peak District. Reporting directly to our Finance Planning and Analysis Business Partner, this role sits within the finance team, with a key focus on supporting our commercial teams. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting our commercial teams, providing valuable insights, and helping to drive performance. This is a chance to be a key finance contact, working alongside the trading teams to analyse data, influence decision-making, and contribute to the continued success of the business.About You:

  • As a team player, you’ll work closely with various teams, building strong, collaborative relationships to ensure success across the business.
  • You’ll be skilled at managing and prioritising workloads, ensuring that deadlines are met without compromising on quality.
  • The ability to adapt to a fast-paced commercial environment will be essential, as things are always evolving, and you’ll need to think on your feet.
  • You’ll be naturally inquisitive, eager to learn and share your knowledge with others to contribute to the overall success of the team.
  • Confidence in challenging the trading teams when necessary will be important, especially when data or performance isn’t quite aligning with expectations.
  • You’ll add value through insight, influencing decisions and helping steer the business toward success.

Key Skills:

  • Part or newly qualified accountant (CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong A-levels (or equivalent); degree beneficial but not essential
  • Experience with Power BI & Power Query is desirable
  • Previous Commercial Finance experience in Retail, including trade day experience, is advantageous
  • Experience interpreting sales and margin data, with the ability to contribute ideas for improvement

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing and Interpreting Weekly Trading Reports
  • Challenging Underperformance in Sales, Margin, and Stock Trends
  • Developing Commercial Models and Providing Performance Insights
  • Building Strong Relationships with Buyers, Merchandisers, and Key Stakeholders
  • Contributing to Monthly Reporting, Forecasting, and Budgeting
