Our Client is currently experiencing growth and is seeking a qualified Commercial Farm Underwriter to join their team.The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial underwriting, specifically within the agricultural sector, and will be responsible for assessing risks, developing insurance solutions, and building lasting relationships with clients.Candidates must possess a CIP designation or, at a minimum, be actively enrolled in the program and working toward completion.Candidates must be based in Western Canada, with a preference for those based in British Columbia.Unfortunately, candidates without specific experience in commercial farm underwriting will not be considered for this opportunity.Advantages

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess both new and existing business.
• Communicate and negotiate coverage, terms, and rating with broker partners.
• Utilize a pragmatic approach to underwriting and relationship management.
• Stay informed of market trends, pricing levels, and legal regulations.
• Implement loss control and risk management strategies.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• CIP designation, or enrolled and working towards completion.
• A minimum of five years of relevant underwriting experience.
• Proven proficiency in underwriting basic to moderately complex commercial farm property portfolios.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities.
