Join ITV.Your impact sends ripples.The teamBusiness Development (Nations & Regions) is our network of offices across the UK outside London working with over 1,000 brands of all shapes and sizes from those testing TV for the first time to those scaling up – our multi-skilled team manage all aspects of client and agency relationships to drive strong relationships, strong reputation and most importantly revenue growth. By getting closer and more upstream to clients and agencies, the team can better understand how ITV can help them achieve their business goals and ultimately deliver revenue growth and other business KPIs (e.g. share growth, perception shifts, pitch conversions, business growth).The roleITV’s Client Strategy and Planning Team work hand-in-hand with Business Development to achieve these commercial goals, but with the defined purpose of helping our advertisers create campaigns that cut through competitive clutter, harness popular culture, build credibility, drive fame for their brands and lead to transformational results for their businesses. Our overall remit is to help ITV build closer and more strategic relationships with its advertisers.We are a team of five that closely collaborates and works fluidly across priority brands and with clients / planners to support their ambitions across creative strategy, comms planning, cultural insight and measurement, leveraging the integration with the London-based team too.We are looking for a Client Strategy and Planning Manager who specialises in Measurement to join our collaborative team.Some key responsibilities
- Responsible for helping deliver on our vision of ‘measuring all of the value we create for all our advertisers’ by providing evidence of the impact of TV on their business, in order to protect and grow client revenues.
- Be the face of TV effectiveness across the nations and regions, developing our measurement capabilities to build confidence in TV across a diverse portfolio of brands, both big and small.
- Foster long-term, high-value relationships with ITVs priority and new-to-TV brands across the regions – drawing on ITV knowledge, expertise and outcome-based resources to help answer questions on effectiveness issues
- Provide clients and agencies with unrivalled support and advice on effectiveness challenges, and will have the ability to confidently make the case for why ITV should play a significant role within their wider media mix.
- Create a stronger effectiveness and measurement culture within the sales team, providing broad omnichannel measurement expertise whilst also getting upstream of measurement product development and creating a positive feedback loop for both outcomes and insight.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- A deep understanding of how to measure the impact of marketing on business success, across advertisers large and small, digital and analogue – and ability to communicate this to the wider Commercial team when needed
- Comprehensive knowledge of the media landscape and process (especially TV) from Planning through to Activation through to Measurement; needs to understand everything (and be extremely curious about it) but not necessarily how it all works in detail
- Must be highly adaptable to picking up new, unfamiliar tools and techniques at speed and with curiosity
- Proven ability to think laterally and imaginatively around a problem to help find a solution (i.e. thinking of new, unexpected use cases or an elegant, simple product explanation)
- Unafraid of leading across multiple work streams, able to get to the heart of a measurement brief and lead on writing project proposals and plan appropriate research and approaches to address a client’s needs
- Must be both empathetic and approachable to understand client and agency challenges that can then help frame measurement products so they’re developed with the maximum chance of success. We need our products to be useful, easy to use and relevant for as many clients and agencies as possible.
- Applying an entrepreneurial mindset and restless curiosity to identifying and repeatedly engaging key contacts across Commercial, agencies and clients (i.e. beyond the ‘usual suspects’ in Media Agency AV Teams)
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- Proven and demonstrable experience in analysing and measuring commercial media to arrive at actionable insight
- Great understanding of the basic principles of advertising effectiveness in the short and long term
- Confidence to challenge the ‘norm’, not be risk averse and enjoy breaking new ground, restlessly curious about what is possible
- Highly analytical with capability to turn data into insight
- Strong insight & data/research skills, comfortable using industry tools such as Nielsen AdIntel, YouGov profiles, Brand Index, TGI, Techedge, Touchpoints, spot optimisation tools (Adalyser, TVSquared, Viewers Logic)
- Confidence in building client relationships and be able to identify strategic opportunities for revenue growth
- An ability to present your work to clients with confidence and passion
- A natural multi tasker and ability to prioritise deadlines – you need to feel comfortable working on several clients at the same time
- Comfortable ‘in the grey’ i.e. the solution won’t always be clear, but you have to seek out the best approach and give a clear opinion on why you are advising upon it
- Collaborative and used to working in multi-disciplinary teams
- You need to be able to self-motivate and work well under pressure but also be proactive and get stuck into wider team life
- You should bring energy, curiosity, an entrepreneurial spirit and a palpable ‘never settle for less than great’ attitude to the team
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in partnership with a wide range of internal stakeholder
