This role offers flexibility of a hybrid work option within New York State, while requiring regular travel throughout Western New York and to the company’s office near Albany.This position plays a key role in managing client relationships and ensuring the successful delivery of retirement plan consulting services. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, retirement plan expertise, and a consultative approach to client service.Responsibilities of the Client Investment Relations Manager will include:

  • Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and responsive service.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to review service quality, plan performance, product options, and design enhancements.
  • Manage the RFP/RFI process for existing clients, ensuring timely and effective vendor evaluation.
  • Coordinate all aspects of onboarding new clients, including vendor selection and implementation planning.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to develop and implement annual education and communication plans that support plan engagement and retirement readiness.
  • Support effective plan administration by advising clients on efficient operational procedures.
  • Keep clients informed of legislative and regulatory updates impacting retirement programs and guide integration of required changes.
  • Partner with legal teams to interpret and communicate compliance responsibilities.
  • Educate senior client leaders on plan design effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead or support formal plan review meetings to ensure proper oversight, governance, and fiduciary compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve administrative issues between plan participants and vendors.
  • Support participant enrollment sessions and other client-facing education efforts as needed.
  • Participate in business development initiatives, including sales presentations with internal sales and marketing teams.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes through training, seminars, and continuing education.
  • Maintain all required industry licenses and certifications in good standing.
  • Identify additional service opportunities during client discussions and refer to appropriate internal teams for follow-up.

Job RequirementsQualifications of the Client Investment Relations Manager:

  • Associate’s degree required (Bachelor’s preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience required; 7 years may substitute for education requirement.
  • Active or obtainable within 6 months: NYS Life, Accident & Health License and FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with senior leaders and providing consultative value at a strategic level.
  • Solid understanding of 403(b), 401(k), and non-qualified retirement plans, including regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for building long-term client relationships.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities with precision.
  • Confident in presenting to Boards and C-suite executives.
  • Travel throughout Western New York and to Albany area office required several times per month.
