Job description:Civil Project Technical Lead/Team Lead, Buildings – ( 250001YV )DescriptionAbout the roleStantec are currently involved in some of Sydney’s largest and exciting projects within a variety of industries and sectors including health, defence, commercial, land development, civil infrastructure and transport. We are currently looking for a Project Technical Lead/Team Lead to join our established and growing Civil team.This rare opportunity will see you driving business growth through strategic marketing, client engagement, and consistent project delivery. Lead by example to build a high-performing team culture centered on development and continuous improvement.You’ll mentor staff, support strategic goals, and ensure a positive, productive environment. Oversee project delivery with strong technical guidance, risk management, and quality assurance, while balancing your workload and promoting collaboration across offices. Maintain clear communication, effective delegation, and commercial focus to uphold performance and company standards.Responsibilities include:Leading project delivery from concept design through to construction, ensuring technical excellencePlaying a key role in business development and client engagement, including maintaining and expanding existing relationshipsIdentifying new opportunities and contributing to strategic planning and growth initiativesOverseeing project financials including fee proposals, resourcing, budgeting, and profitabilityManaging and mentoring engineers, modellers and drafters within the team, fostering a high-performance culturePeer review of design work and documentation to ensure quality and complianceRepresenting the business in client meetings, presentations, and industry forumsContributing to the continual improvement of systems, processes, and design standardsEnsure adherence to professional standards, ethics and quality procedures and standards and make project Teams are aware of commercial and technical risk and what they should do to minimise itQualificationsTo be successful for this role you’ll need:Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant project technical experience in the consulting or engineering industryRelevant tertiary qualifications (Civil Engineering)CPEng/NER accreditationRegistered Design Practitioner or on pathway to achieve, highly desirableStrong leadership capabilities and experience managing teams and projectsProven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationshipsA track record of driving business performance through technical and commercial contributionsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and influenceA proactive and strategic mindset with a passion for growing business and peopleExperience in the civil related design and delivery of land development and building projects.Experience in CAD based design platforms is preferredWhat we offerAlong with a competitive salary we offer many other benefits to ensure your professional development & wellbeing is ongoing.Genuine Flexible Working Arrangements.Option to purchase up to 4 weeks additional leave.Learning and Talent Development Programs – Including Global programmes, online learning and on-the-job learning
