Our Casual Bank is an in-house service used by our teams across Children’s Services, for when there is a need for additional support on an ad-hoc and flexible basis. This could be for a range of tasks and in a variety of locations across the County.Joining our Casual Bank team offers you flexibility to work when it suits you, so is perfect if you have other priorities that your work and life needs to fit around.You may be a registered children’s social worker who has recently retired, on a career break or left work to focus on other things and looking for flexible paid work.If you have previously worked as a registered social worker but have been out of the workforce for a while and are thinking of returning, a period of casual work can count towards reinstating your lapsed registration.Whatever it is you are looking for, joining the Bank is a great way to combine paid work with total flexibility.
You will receive training and induction, as well as being paid the same rate as our regular staff. You will also receive an enhancement to your pay to account for holidays and may be eligible to join the local government pension scheme.About The JobCYPL Grade 10 – 12 Casual Rate: £22.44 – £28.90 per hourHourly rate is dependant on your experience and qualifications. You will be paid in arrears on a claims basis for the hours you worked.
As a Casual Bank Children’s Social Worker you will be offered tasks on an adhoc basis such as (but not limited to):

  • Parent Assess
  • Together or apart assessments
  • MASH enquiries
  • Emergency Duty Team
  • Needs assessments of adopted children & those subject to SGOs
  • Completion of s7 and s37 reports
  • In / Out of county visits
  • Fostering / Adopter Assessments
  • Viability Assessments

Experience and SkillsBefore you begin working as part of our Casual Bank, it’s important we ensure you have the right knowledge and skills. You will be asked to provide evidence of qualifications gained during Interview.Qualifications and/or experience:

  • Post graduate professional qualification relevant to the professional service specialism (such as CQSW/CSS/DipSW or BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent and PQSW);
  • Significant and broad experience demonstrating applied application of the above levels of knowledge in a relevant setting.
  • Relevant chartered status of a professional body or equivalent high-level experience of involved practices.
  • Registration with Social Work England and responsibility for maintaining registration.
  • Significant post qualification experience in dealing with diverse issues.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering or co-ordinating a quality customer-focussed service to others.
