Reports to: Head ChefThe OpportunityWe’re seeking a passionate Chef de Partie to join a vibrant, busy kitchen with ambitious goals to become the number one restaurant in Newbury and beyond. If you want to work with fresh, local, seasonal ingredients in a role where you can take ownership of your section, contribute to creative menu development, and be part of a forward-thinking culinary team, this could be the perfect next step for you.You’ll work in a contemporary, cosy environment with around 40 covers per service (lunch and dinner, Wednesday to Sunday), serving thoughtfully prepared meals and supporting a kitchen aiming for AA Rosettes and Michelin recognition.Role DetailsHours: Wednesday to Saturday (full service), Sunday 11am – 5pm, totaling 45 hours per weekSalary: £30,000 per annum plus £250-£400 per month troncBenefits:Tronc tips paid monthlyCareer progression and training opportunitiesStaff meals each shiftSupportive team environment with a people-first cultureOpportunities to develop your culinary creativityExposure to high-quality, seasonal, and local ingredientsChance to be involved in menu development and event planningKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes within your sectionAssist the Sous Chef with menu creation, recipe development, and dish innovationHandle preparation of meat, fish, and other key ingredients to high standardsSupport health and safety and food hygiene compliance across the kitchenMonitor portion control and minimize waste for cost-effective operationsMaintain cleanliness and safety of your section and the wider kitchenOperate your section independently, efficiently, and with high attention to detailCollaborate closely with kitchen colleagues to ensure smooth service deliveryWhat We’re Looking ForPrevious kitchen experience with training as a commis chef or equivalent, ideally with basic Chef de Partie skillsProven ability to consistently deliver well-presented, quality dishesGood knowledge of food safety standards and health & safety regulationsStrong organizational skills, able to work independently and manage your sectionExcellent communication and numeracy skillsPositive, adaptable, and enthusiastic team player keen to learn and developWillingness to embrace new ideas and contribute creativelyDesirable Qualifications & ExperienceLevel 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace AwardLevel 3 Food Safety CertificateCity & Guilds Catering or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)Food Safety Level 1 and 2Minimum 1 year relevant kitchen experienceUnderstanding of manual handling, COSHH regulations, and safe kitchen equipment useIf you’re ready to take your career to the next level and thrive in a creative, challenging kitchen environment, please get in touch to discuss this opportunity further.
