A better work life balance?An exciting opportunity has arisen for Catering Assistants to work within the kitchen at Ninewells Hospital. We are looking for team members to join our department. You will be responsible for delivering the highest standard of Catering Service within the Hospital to patients, staff and visitors whilst maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Experience is essential.You must have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, follow instructions and possess good communication skills. You must also be able to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and able to cope under pressure.You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.Informal enquiries to Sharon Kyle, Patient Catering Services Manager Tel. 01382 632795The working hours for these posts are:1 x 23.70 hour post, 4 days from 7 to be discussed at interview and1 x 29.60hr post, 5 days from 7 to be discussed at interview.Shift times vary between 7am – 8:30pm and enhancements are paid for weekend work.PLEASE NOTE ON APPLICATION WHICH POST OR POSTS YOU ARE APPLYING FORInternal – Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.Please note the salary scale for this post is pro rata for part time hoursNHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
