Manchester City Council are looking to recruit additional panel members to sit on fostering panels who provide independent oversight of Foster Carer approvals and reviews.Fostering Panel has a key role to play in ensuring that a robust assessment has been completed for any prospective carers which evidences their ability to meet a child’s needs whilst also adhering to the regulations and standards required of all carers. In addition to providing oversight of assessment, Fostering Panel also has oversight of Foster Carer annual reviews and allegations.We are looking for panel members who have an understanding of fostering and have experience of safeguarding with children and families. A fixed allowance of £150 is paid for each panel completed. This payment includes reading time and attendance on the day.Fostering Panel is held every week of the year and you would need to be available to participate in a minimum of one panel per month.
