The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the school premises, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.Job Title: Caretaker

Key Responsibilities:

• Building & Grounds Maintenance: Ensure the school buildings and grounds are well-maintained, including routine repairs, painting, and general upkeep.
• Cleaning: Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas of the school, including classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal spaces.
• Health & Safety: Carry out regular safety checks, implement risk assessments, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety.
• Security: Secure the school premises, including locking and unlocking doors, monitoring security systems, and ensuring the safety of the site.
• Event & Set-up Support: Assist in preparing for school events, assemblies, and other activities, both indoors and outdoors.
• General Support: Assist with deliveries, setting up equipment, and providing support to staff as needed.

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience in care taking or a similar maintenance role (preferably in a school or education setting).
• Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to carry out physical tasks and lift equipment when necessary.

Requirements:

• An Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to undertake one (we can help with this).
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Comprehensive CV covering the last 10 years of education/employment history with any breaks explained.
