The team comes together in the London office every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. With the option of working remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays. Hours are 9.00-5.30pm Mon to Thurs, and 4.30pm finish on Fridays!Overview of the roleWe have an exciting opportunity at The Drum for an ambitious Business Development Executive to join the sales team behind the fastest-growing media and marketing platform in the US EMEA and APAC. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven sales professional looking to join a fun, creative and results-focused team, securing digital, events, and custom content solutions with clients to grow revenue from a range of exciting businesses. The candidate must have a track record in sales and be able to demonstrate successful experience in securing new business.Reporting to the Head of Sales, the Business Development Executive will be predominantly focused on securing new business as well as working across some named accounts to develop and grow existing relationships. We are seeking commercially driven candidates that have at least a few years’ experience in media sales and want to grow and develop their career in a market-leading publisher that offer an extremely competitive salary package as well as a lucrative commission structure and a clear progression guide to help you grow within the business.Key responsibilities

  • Own the responsibility of your targets, and building the pipeline necessary to achieve them on a monthly basis
  • Source new business opportunities across the portfolio of digital products, using existing database of clients and prospecting net new business opportunities
  • To grow existing customers annual revenues through cross selling, upselling and increasing average customer value
  • Support the wider sales team, helping to build and deliver complex proposals for large partnership agreements
  • To actively report on your sales pipeline and forecasting
  • To build and manage a network of senior stakeholders
  • To delight our customers with market-leading sales and service
  • To own and execute the sales plan as part of a focused and skilled commercial team
  • To educate customers and demonstrate value to invest in our media solutions
  • To collaborate with international sales, marketing, operations and content teams to deliver on solutions and grow revenues
  • To research and be aware of competitor activity, industry trends and news and identify commercial opportunities from these
  • To attend and network at corporate events as required and to represent the company

  • Entry level or a few years’ experience in selling advertising media
  • A team player who contributes to ideas and feedback
  • Relevant consultative style sales training and experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced organisation
  • Strong prospecting and new business development skills
  • A collaborative, creative spark with the ability to effectively work with other departments
  • Proven results from a similar role
  • Highly results driven
  • Salesforce or equivalent CRM knowledge preferable
  • Strong presentation skills
