We are proud to be formally recognized with industry and ministerial awards for innovation and environmental stewardship, while managing long-term contracts within both provincial and federal jurisdictions.We are looking to hire an experienced Bridgeworker – Civil Infrastructure and Construction, to join our growing team based out of LAPRAIRIE’S Grande Prairie / Clairmont Alberta facility – serving throughout Alberta and Western Canada.Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of routine and complex repairs related to timber, concrete and steel bridge structures including concrete formwork and finishing, bearings, cap and other replacements of bridge components, backwall and abutment excavation and backfilling, and other work.
- Perform bridge construction and/or rehabilitation tasks involving multi span timber, concrete, cable and steel bridges including standard and major bridges.
- Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to skid steer, loader, dozer, excavator, and pile driver.
- Multiyear field experience related to civil bridge construction / maintenance.
- Site supervision and management experience is considered an asset.
- A strong focus on Health, Safety & Environmental practices.
- Ability to understand technical specifications and related project drawings.
- Solid communications skills (oral / written).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired skills and Experience:
- Must have a thorough knowledge of worksite safety, and safe operating procedures relevant to bridge construction and the Bridgeworker and/or Carpentry trade.
- Certified Red Seal Bridgeworker and/or Certified Red Seal Carpenter would be considered an asset.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Class 3 or a Class 1 Driver’s license is preferred.
