One of the objectives of the REDD group is to develop and evaluate innovative approaches to fish and fish habitat monitoring to improve efficiency, provide better information to inform management decisions, and resolve critical uncertainties for fish conservation and management.As a Biological Science Assistant (REDD Project Assistant) in Corvallis, Oregon, you will:Conduct field surveys to assess fish and fish habitat, including fish specimen and genetic sample collections; fish population surveys, environmental DNA surveys, and field respirometry/thermal capacityBe responsible for quality control of collected dataWrite descriptions of sample site characteristics and site access informationCoordinating with other ODFW personnel, and request permission for access from private landownersThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
