In this role you will:

  • Acts as a strategic partner by aligning ATM solution resources with business strategy; working with senior leaders across the organization to provide an integrated approach to business changes.
  • Provide vision, leadership, planning, project coordination and management for the development of an effective ATM Solutions Program and Strategy.
  • Create a collaborative environment that provides employees clear direction, continuous learning and development, and shared commitment to common vision and values.
  • Acts as a senior advisor to the Executives and Senior Leaders on all facets of ATM Solutions.
  • Partner and collaborate with functional technical and engineering resources groups, unions, and Employee Relations to coordinate and integrate new ATM Systems into field operations.
  • Oversee the architecture, design, development, and deployment of scalable and secure ATM solutions.
  • Establish and uphold software development best practices, including agile methodologies, DevOps, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).
  • Manage ATM solutions development budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with industry, security, and regulatory standards, as well as all relevant company policies.

What you bring:Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years working in a software related organization.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing a team of managers
  • Experience in software development within the aviation industry.
  • Experience working with cross-functional leaders as one unit & setting organizational goals and objectives.
  • Experience working in product engineering.
  • Experience building and leading large, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience working in high-performance, multi-stakeholder teams.
  • Experienced in OPEX and CAPEX budget planning.

Knowledge:

  • Expert level knowledge of the ANSP ATM vendor ecosystem
  • Expert level knowledge and understanding of software engineering principles, technologies, and best practices.
  • Expertise in software architecture & design of scalable, maintainable & resilient systems
  • Expertise in modern software delivery practices (continuous delivery, lean practices, etc.).
  • Operational Excellence Mindset: Experience running & managing operations of business-critical systems.
  • Knowledge of a range of Technology Management frameworks such as ISO, ITIL, CMMI, ED-109 etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Air Navigation Services
  • Knowledge and understanding of ICAO and Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of collective bargaining, labour relations and employee relationships.
  • Detailed and thorough understanding/mastery operational technology architecture, development, testing and maintenance best practices.
  • Knowledge of Financial Management procedures and techniques to establish and manage Operating and Capital budgets.
