Position description

The California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3) at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a Assistant Project Scientist in the Groves Lab, in the area of T cell signaling studies.

The PI lab develops quantitative methods to study T cell signal transduction, emphasizing quantitative single molecule imaging in living cells. In addition, we apply image analysis techniques and quantitative models for molecular signaling processes.

The ASAP project is a highly collaborative effort consisting of a team of researchers located at UC Berkeley. Within UC Berkeley, the successful candidate will work with individuals from multiple departments, including molecular and cell biology, integrative biology, statistics, and the center for computational biology.

The position will contribute in three major ways 1) perform quantitative single molecule imaging experiments on live, primary T cells, 2) develop and apply quantitative imaging analysis techniques to image data, 3) basic cloning and protein expression as needed to utilize the hybrid live cell-supported membrane system.

The position will keep detailed records of experiments performed, conclusions made, and communication of results orally and through lab notebook records.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
