Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.Let us introduce the roleWe are recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Liabilities team. Here, you would be responsible to deliver assigned projects related to Decommissioning, Demolition and Waste Processing Capability to time, cost and quality, compliant with AWE processes. The role of the Assistant Project Manager may also include the applications of skill sets within nuclear programmes and projects in supporting the delivery of the AWE mission. Assistant Project Managers will be expected to work in roles which require an awareness and compliance to the nuclear license conditions.The role requires an individual who can readily attend AWE on site to build and maintain high quality relationships and support the project team. However, AWE offers agile flexible working arrangements, therefore elements of the role can be delivered through remote working.Liabilities are initiating new projects during 2025. This is an opportunity to join a mature and expanding team to deliver significant hazard reduction and skyline change at AWE.Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:Support the Project Manager with delivery of projectsReport progress and escalate issues to the Project ManagerBuild and maintain effective internal and external working relationshipsRead, analyse and interpret charts, spreadsheets, schedules and (in some business areas) technical drawingsClear and concise communication approach, both oral and written, at multiple levelsFoster good team morale and spirit and motivate others, maintain collaborative relationshipsEffective multi-task working, identify and manage priorities and work to challenging timescalesPossess good listening skills enabling requests to be assimilated and converted into action plansAble to hold people to account when they under deliver or let standards slipMust be able to use Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)In this role you will:
