The Sprott School of Business at Carleton University invites applications from qualified candidates for a preliminary (tenure-track) appointment in Business Analytics at the rank of Assistant Professor Teaching Stream beginning July 1, 2025.
The School seeks an Assistant Professor (Teaching Stream) specializing in Business Analytics. The successful candidate will engage in teaching business students the power of analysing data for business questions as a distinct discipline from data science.
Qualifications
The successful applicant should possess:
Ph.D. in Business Analytics (or related field) awarded in the last five (5) years or a Master’s Degree in Business Analytics (or related field) and a minimum of five years of relevant work experience. If degree was awarded more than five years ago, the candidate must demonstrate currency through recent strong research and teaching records or through recent sustained linkages to professional engagement and relevant professional experience within the leadership of Business Analytics Teams.
Demonstrable skills in data analysis (such as knowledge of Python and/or R) and interpretation to inform business decisions.
Demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching contributions or demonstrated aptitude (appropriate to stage of career) for teaching Business Analytics at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Commitment to continuing improvement and excellence in teaching.
Teaching experience at an AACSB accredited Business School will be an asset.
