Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:The Department of Speech-Language Pathology in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, invites applications for a full-time continuing teaching stream appointment in the area of communication and/or swallowing disorders. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.Applicants must have a PhD degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field by the appointment date, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and a strong record of pedagogical inquiry. The candidate must be eligible for registration with College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and strengthen our existing .Candidates must have teaching experience in a degree-granting program, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures. Additionally, candidates must possess a demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry and a demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activities.Evidence of excellence in teaching and a commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry can be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, awards and accolades, and a strong teaching dossier including a statement of teaching philosophy, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations as submitted as part of the application. Candidates may also share career goals, experience as a course instructor, and a record of excellence in teaching in both small and large enrolment classes, curriculum development, and mentoring learners. The successful candidate must also have pedagogy-related scholarly accomplishments demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals, presentations at conferences, and strong endorsements by referees of high standing.The successful candidate will engage in education leadership and scholarship that align with the Speech-Language Pathology Department’s and . They will also participate in developing curriculum and teaching innovation and scholarship.
