SciTec has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO). Our ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Security Team with implementing security measures necessary for developing and exercising security procedures in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM; 32 CFR, Part 117).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain all documentation required to fulfill FCL requirements
- Assist in the classified security programs of our 2 SciTec Boulder facilities
- Administer day-to-day security programs, personnel processing, program reviews, document control system, audits & self-inspections, violation investigations & reports, receipt/dispatch/destruction/mail logs, visit certs, etc.
- Maintain personnel clearances, investigations, reports, and foreign travel in DISS
- Maintain the SciTec Boulder facility’s profile in NISS
- Upload new clearance applicants’ fingerprints into SWFT
- Secondary POC for personnel security matters with DCSA
- Review DD254s to ensure adherence to classified programs
- Develop and administer a comprehensive security education, training, and awareness program, to include Initial & Annual Security Refresher Training
- Investigate and report security violations and incidents
- Perform required self-inspections of security program, resolving possible security violations and initiating measures to correct security deficiencies
- Process incoming & outgoing Visit Access Requests (VARs) for employees, customers, and partners in DISS
- Maintain access control and intrusion detection systems
- Participate in meetings in support of the corporate FSO and security team
- Establish and maintain working relationships with government customers
- Must complete CDSE FSO for Possessing Facilities Certification within 6 months of hire
- Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel
- Process new employee security clearances through DISS
- Develop and/or contribute to local and corporate security policy and SOPs
- Maintain COMSEC material and DIAS account
- Maintain Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) program
- Contribute to the RMF process for information systems as it pertains to physical and environmental security, personnel security, and incident response
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have, or be able to obtain and maintain, an active Secret, or higher, U.S. government security clearance
- Must have a high school diploma
- Working knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM requirements for a possessing facility and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) standards
- Requires working knowledge of DISS, NISS, SWFT, and e-QIP
- Experience in initiating and maintaining U.S. government security clearance applications
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of multiple functional areas and DoD security programs
- Ability to effectively and proactively interact with staff, leadership, industry partners, and customer agencies.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently, customer service orientated
- Ability to interpret company and government security policies and apply them to program operations
- Ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures
- Demonstrated attention to detail

- COMSEC Experience
- Experience with military and government customers
- Experience with Export Control (ITAR/EAR)
- Experience with Insider Threat Programs
- Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process
- Experience developing and implementing OPSEC, emergency action and test plans
- Experience conducting Security incident inquiries
- NCMS membership and participation
- Prior experience in government contracting
- Knowledge of processes and procedures for ICD 705 space programs
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- Experience with security requirements for SCI and SAP programs

The pay range for this position is $60,000 – $90,000 year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
