Area Manager, Construction Services (Transportation)

GFT is seeking an Area Manager (Transportation focused)to join our Construction Services team in the Southern California area!

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As theArea Construction Manager, you be responsible for providing direction and leadership on multiple projects locally and identifying opportunities to further grow GFT’s presence in the region. You will develop and lead strategic and tactical operational initiatives in with the goal of meeting sales and revenue targets, developing client relationships focused on project execution.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Recruiting and hiring a solid construction management group.
• Developing and mentoring a team, promoting collaborative, collective problem-solving, and a culture that fosters teamwork and effective communication.
• Participate in and oversee bid reviews for projects regionally, reviewing and negotiating agreements and contracts.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the project managers and support staff assigned to projects, ensuring all projects progress, on schedule and within budget.
• Take full responsibility for ensuring the most effective utilization of all resources regionally
• Review weekly and monthly project status reports and evaluate that schedules and plans meet the required project performance goals.
• Assemble project teams, leveraging internal resources as well as external through existing resource network.
• Oversee project cost controls, budgets, invoicing, estimates and project forecasts and provide regular updates to management, with an emphasis on profit, positive cash flow, and timely project closeout procedures.
• Where necessary, take a lead role in resolving any contractual, legal and/or compliance issues with owners, JV partners or suppliers.
• Be a champion in the implementation of new policies and procedures across your group to improve efficiencies and workflow, directly overseeing the change management process.
• Responsible for leading and capturing new contract and project opportunities in Transportation
