We are 50 years strong in 21 offices across California, the Pacific Northwest, and the Southeastern United States.
ESA seeks a highly motivated Cultural Resource Specialistwith2-7 years of experience in leading field teams & projects, & writing reports to join our Northwest Cultural Resource Team. Strong preference for candidates located within a commutable distance to the Portland Metro area. Qualified candidates near Salem, Eugene, Bend or within a commutable distance of Portland areas will also be considered. Qualified candidates must be open to occasional travel as this role may involve some travel for site visits, projects, field work, and in-person team collaboration as needed.

What You Will Do for ESA
ESA is looking for Full-time archaeological field director to support field projects in Oregon. Qualified candidates can demonstrate the ability to perform all aspects of archaeological monitoring and familiarity working on construction sites, coordinating with construction personnel, interacting with Native American monitors, and writing sections of reports. Successful candidates will fulfill the following duties:

Our Cultural Resources Team includes pre-contact and historical archaeologists, geoarchaeological specialists, tribal consultation specialists, architectural historians, and historians that provide expertise for many local, state, and federal agencies throughout Oregon and Washington. Our work matters because we assist agencies in ensuring that our nation’s history and that of the tribal communities with whom we work are protected where possible and treated with respect. Must have valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to perform survey and other work-related tasks.

ESA has established multiple pay ranges tailored to the economic factors in the geographies in which ESA staff reside. For this position, the range is approximately as listed based on our anticipated hiring locations as noted in the above job details. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, skills, and the city in which the applicant lives.
