Learn more about OCL here:The RoleWe are currently recruiting for experienced Apprentice & Journeyman Pipefitters for a one month shutdown project at an oil and gas facility near Namao, Alberta. This is a live in plant role requiring previous shutdown and industrial site experience. Work will be performed in a fast-paced, safety focused environment. We are looking for people who are local to the Edmonton area, as there is no LOA for this project. The start date is April 28, 2025.Compensation/Benefits

  • Can hire as a direct employee or as a *Direct Service Provider (DSP).
  • Competitive Wage.
  • Overtime at time and a half after 8 hours per day.
  • 6% vacation pay and 4% stat holiday pay on all regular hours.
  • Benefits after 90 days of employment (50% employer paid) – vision, health, dental, paramedicals, travel

Responsibilities/Duties
  • Execute shutdown work including disassembly, repair, installation and reassembly of piping systems (including torquing)
  • Rigging & lifting (critical lifts) around live lines and facilities.
  • Work closely with supervision and other trades to meet tight project deadlines
  • Maintain equipment
  • Interpret blueprints, isometrics and piping drawings
  • Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety protocols and project standards

  • Previous shutdown experience is an asset

  • Takes pride in safety, document control, lock-up procedures & preventative maintenance
  • Excellent english communication skills required
  • Able to follow directions
  • Performs well under pressure and tight deadlines

Experience/Education/Qualifications

  • Registered Journeyperson Pipefitter
  • Registered Apprentice
  • Must have previous experience in a similar setting and industry
  • Must have the following safety tickets: H2S Alive and WHMIS 2015
  • May be required to complete a pre-access drug and alcohol test
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Able to work long hours in a plant environment in all weather conditions
  • Class 5 driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract with reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must be local to Edmonton and surrounding areas
