Job Summary

The Analytical Chemistry Scientist is responsible for supporting analytical chemistry laboratory testing and daily laboratory operations in a regulated environment. This role performs analytical testing, operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation, supports analytical method development and validation, manages controlled documentation, and coordinates laboratory activities to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. The Lab Scientist collaborates with cross-functional teams while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, data integrity, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform routine analytical testing using established laboratory methods and procedures.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, LC-MS, GC, spectroscopy, and Karl Fischer titration systems.
  • Support analytical method development, validation, and laboratory investigations as required.
  • Coordinate instrument maintenance and service activities to ensure laboratory readiness.
  • Draft, review, revise, and maintain controlled documents, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), analytical methods, work instructions, forms, and laboratory records.
  • Ensure laboratory documentation is completed accurately and maintained in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage laboratory record retention, filing, storage, and archival activities.
  • Coordinate laboratory logistics and operational activities to support testing schedules and project timelines.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to laboratory operations and quality systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of laboratory, technical, or operations support experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques and instrumentation, including HPLC, LC-MS, GC, spectroscopy, and Karl Fischer titration.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory documentation practices and controlled document management.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and data integrity principles preferred.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality records preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS instrumentation preferred.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated laboratory environments preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to consistently follow laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.

education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline required.
  • Graduate degree in a scientific discipline preferred.

Work Experience

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of analytical laboratory, technical, or operations support experience required.
  • Experience in regulated laboratory environments, including pharmaceutical or biotechnology settings, preferred.
