EPM is a group within CMF responsible for engaging and monitoring external managers in public markets across all trading styles, asset classes, and geographies. The EPM group oversees a portfolio of externally managed funds and separate accounts and has relationships with over 60 of the world’s top asset managers. Fund mandates include public market equities, credit, interest rates, currencies and commodities. about our Capital Markets Investments. This contract will start in July 2025.What you’ll do
- Contribute to research and formulate views on active investment strategies in public markets and their performance under various market conditions.
- Meet and diligence hedge fund managers across various strategies and asset classes.
- Participate in EPM’s investment and strategy recommendation meetings and contribute to the investment decision making process.
- Participate in research projects related to top-down portfolio strategy and construction; including factor modeling, portfolio optimization and risk factor analytics.
- Participate in work related to advancing the fund’s framework in public markets.
- Support day-to-day activities including ad hoc requests on datasets, searches, evaluation of background materials, projects and research efforts.
- Support regular weekly research meetings.
QualificationsWho We’re Looking for
- Recently graduated from an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Business, Mathematical Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering. Quantitative discipline preferred but not a requirement.
- Quantitative background with programming experience in Python, VBA, Java and/or Matlab considered an asset but not required.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), Bloomberg and CapIQ.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Strong qualitative and analytical skills.
- Passion for investing and a keen interest in capital markets.
