The Total Rewards group ensures that CPPIB’s compensation, pension, benefits, and wellbeing programs are designed and implemented in a way that enables the firm to attract and retain high caliber talent. The group develops related policies and program, as well as oversees their execution.Reporting to the Director, Compensation, you will be responsible for supporting all compensation related programs and processes. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support the Compensation team with contributing to compensation design review and building out best practices. Also supporting various tasks during our annual processes including market benchmarking surveys, year-end salary and incentive compensation review processes, management of exceptions, and testing of systems and statements. This position will serve as key control in a number of critical processes and must be able to manage competing priorities.
  • Independently produce and deliver analysis to various teams across HR and key business stakeholders to support compensation and market data insights for all jurisdictions/offices; demonstrating curiosity to seek and understand the story beyond the numbers.
  • Own the first line of query resolution support by facilitating discussions with relevant subject matter experts until queries are addressed. Could be supporting the request for job evaluation or compensation guidance from Talent Acquisition, Global Mobility and other HR professionals.
  • Participate in enhancements to our HR systems, including support for definition of business requirements and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Document and maintain business user guides for various system, including training material for our market data platform.
  • Look for efficiency gains in our processes and work with members of the Operations and Analytics team to implement changes.
  • Aid in the development of employee communication materials and support the governance and upholding of plan terms across all compensation plans.
  • Aid in the management of vendor relationships including tracking timelines and invoices

QualificationsThe preferred candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant experience working in a similar function. Offer will reflect relevance of that experience.Other position requirements:

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities
  • Very detail oriented with a superior track record of achieving high quality results
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to maintain sensitive and highly confidential information
  • Advanced Excel skills to manipulate spreadsheets
  • Ability to independently produce discrete pieces of work
  • Collaborate across the organization and foster effective working relationships at all levels internally and with external partners
  • Able to identify opportunities, take initiative and think through future implications
  • Previous experience working with and reporting from HR information systems. Experience with Workday/ Peoplefluent is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, under pressure and with time-sensitive deadlines
