The duties listed in this position description are representative of the vacating incumbent’s responsibilities. Not all of these responsibilities will be accomplished during the duration of the emergency hire appointment, but this Emergency Hire will have some coverage and/or preparation of them.Working independently under the general supervision of the Chief of Police, incumbent performs a variety of complex clerical duties in support of the University Police Department and the President’s Office. Work involves using ingenuity and attention to detail to accomplish a wide range of responsibilities. Incumbent provides support for the University Police Department in the areas of human resources, payroll, budget, procurement, accounts payable, travel, information technology, facilities and risk management. Support for the President’s Office to be provided in the areas of event planning, office coordination, and special projects.Required Education and Experience:This position requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. These qualifications, and those listed above, would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with three years of related office work experience.Preferences: Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills.

  • Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of higher education policies and procedures
  • Experience processing payments, creating purchase requisitions, reviewing contracts, direct pays, and other financial processing tasks
  • Budget maintenance and management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, CSUBUY, Concur, Data Warehouse
  • Event planning experience in higher education setting
  • Bilingual.

Time Base: Part-time (.50)Pay Plan: 12/12Work Schedule: TBDSalary Information: $1,932 per month/$23,184 per year (FTE $46,368 per year)Additional Information:California State University, Chico, in accordance with CSU policy, requires that the successful candidate complete a background check (including a criminal records check, sexual offender registry check, and/or fingerprinting) prior to assuming this position.
